Small Minds

Washington Irving

Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune, but great minds rise above them.

We all have those friends that incessantly whine and blame everything but themselves for the situation they’re in or give up the smallest of adversity. I don’t know why, but for some reason it’s become the biggest issue in my Facebook news feed the past couple of days and I’m.just.over.it.

If I gave up at every money issue, I’d never financially accomplish anything. If I gave up at every car repair issue (especially this year, holy crap!), I’d never get anywhere. If I gave up at every dead end with my business, I’d never make a dollar. If I gave up every time I didn’t completely understand something academically, I’d never learn anything.

If you expect everyone else to solve your problems, that’s the wrong outlook. If you need some help along the way that’s only natural.

Okay. I think I’m done.
